10,000 BC

Watched 10000BC in Golden Screen Cinema over the weekend in Midvalley. The movie started off pretty well with every a little different from other similar storyline movies--but it is just so expected that the Evolet (blue eye girl) would be with D'leh and etc etc. I was really looking forward to this movie but it was a little disappointing right from the start.

I watched this movie with my nht gang and I was sitting next to Mike and Sue Ann. Guess what happened right after the characters started to talk after the narration about the movie ended--the characters are like ice age set in a snowing scene. Mike turn over and said " SO FAKE la... how come they can speak English? stupid la the director" or something along that line. I was like "........", one part of me felt like laughing out, one part of me felt speechless and another part was like being squeezeeed real hard (zhar dou).

The movie is about how one tribe was murdered and slaughtered with one survival living with another tribe, growing up to love one of the member of the tribe who so happened to be the son of the tribe leader. His father was treated as someone who abandoned the tribe but in fact was the greatest man because he actually left in search of new land and new hope--apparently, the tribe(Yagahl) is dieing slowly because they are running low on food supplies;a prophecy foretold that there would be only one last hunting season for them.

Main characters:

Steven Strait as D'leh and Camilla Belle as Evolet

Then again, the scenes and some of the CGIs are pretty decently made. It would actually prompt many different thoughts about the movie and how true was the story.

I would try not to say too much about the movie, go watch it and be the judge of it. My friend Vincent thinks that the movie is pretty good as he really gave all the questions brought up a very thoroughly. I guess the point of the movie has its truth within it.

One thing that I like eventhough it seems a little unreal, is the fact that the love between D'leh and Evolet was so strong that it drove him to travel a more than quarter way around Earth on FOOT.

Some interview with the main actors. Interview

Rating: 2.5/6
