Lunch at Kopi-Tiam

Lunch seems to be much later than usual today, went to the Kopi-Tiam near my office with my colleague only around 1.30pm when our lunch is normally at 12.30pm. Everyone didn't seem to be hungry--probably because our boss is around and we all feel rather gauche to just leave for lunch when "he" only came in at 12pm.

I was feeling a little emotional, probably a random moodswing I have from time to time. Feeling rather FAT too. Not wanting to take spicy food or rice, I decided to take "Cheng Tong Bee Hoon" (clear soup rice vermicelli*).

nothing fancy...

got cabbage, shredded chicken, fishball, fishcake and of course Bee Hon

*Bee Hon - rice vermicelli = sen mee (Thai) = mi fen (Mandarin) = mei fun (Chinese) = bee hoon (Malay) = beehoon (Malay). It is actually made out of rice flour and it is less fattening compared to the other noodle within its range--considered the healthier choice. It has a smooth texture that would absorb the soup and the essence making it very tasty. It is also very popular for fried bee hon, sometimes called economy bee hon that some hawker stall or food provider sells. It is fast and filling. Fried bee hon is much enjoyed with curry chicken.

p/s:but then again, try not to eat too much of something.
